September 3rd, 2008 by Ted | No Comments | Filed in rumors, servicesOn the long, long list of features missing from our beloved iPhone, tethering tops them all. Tethering is the practice of using one’s phone data plan to get online from one’s laptop, often using Bluetooth modem connectivity. But the iPhone just doesn’t do it… for now.
According to an account of the rumor, Steve Jobs himself emailed somebody who inquired about the lack of tethering and said, “we don’t like it” and “we’re talking to AT&T”. Of course, Steve Jobs rumors are a dime a dozen. Nevertheless, this is an important feature and we want it resolved.
